Violent Attacks on Elderly Men Lead to Police Injury in Bavaria: Suspect Stabbed Officer, Detained for Psychiatric Evaluation

Knife attack on SEK officer in Bavaria

On Saturday in Schliersee, Bavaria, a 49-year-old man allegedly attacked an 84-year-old man and then stabbed a police officer with a knife. The police were called to the scene and found the elderly pedestrian lying on the ground with serious head injuries.

Initially, the police believed it was an accident, but after further investigation, they determined that the suspect had intentionally knocked over the man. The suspect then fled to his apartment where he threatened the police with a knife. Multiple officers and special forces were called in for the arrest.

During the arrest, the suspect allegedly stabbed a SEK officer multiple times, but he was not injured thanks to his protective gear. The suspect sustained minor injuries during the arrest. An investigating judge issued a detention order for the suspect and he was taken to a psychiatric hospital for evaluation.

The motive behind the attacks on both men remains unclear as the investigation is ongoing into this incident in Schliersee, Bavaria.
