Watch Me: The Long-Awaited Launch of a Women’s Sports Bar in Long Beach

New Women’s Sports Bar ‘Watch Me’ Set to Open in Long Beach – NBC Los Angeles

Emme Eddy and Jax Diener have a vision of success for women’s sports in Long Beach. They believe that the growing interest in female athletes like Caitlin Clark, the rising popularity of women soccer clubs like Angel City, and the expanding fan base of the LA Sparks make it the perfect time to open a women’s sports bar.

Their dream is becoming a reality with “Watch Me,” a new establishment located in a former Mexican restaurant. The name is inspired by the perseverance and talent of female athletes who often have to fight for recognition amidst skepticism from others.

Diener has been visualizing this space for over thirty years, and he believes that now is the ideal time for such an establishment to flourish. The success of similar ventures like “Sports Bra” in Portland, Oregon, which brought in nearly $1 million in revenue within its first eight months of operation, has provided inspiration for Eddy and Diener.

Their primary focus will be on women’s sports programming, but they will also include other sports like baseball and hockey to provide a comprehensive experience for sports fans in Long Beach and beyond. With plans to open every day during the Olympics followed by five days a week afterwards, they have a tight timeline to transform the space into their dream destination.
