West Virginia Strength and Conditioning Coach Nolan Harvath Joins Lady Vols Basketball as Director of Sports Performance

Nolan Harvath has been named the new director of sports performance for Lady Vols basketball by head coach Kim Caldwell. The announcement was made on Thursday, with Harvath joining the team after working with the West Virginia strength and conditioning staff since December 2020.

Harvath replaces Bryan Tatum, who was not retained from the previous staff. Caldwell expressed her excitement about having Harvath join the team, highlighting their previous experience working together at Division II Glenville State and Harvath’s dedication to the program’s vision. She is confident that he will help the team become the hardest working in the country, pushing for continuous improvement every day.

Prior to his time at West Virginia, Harvath served as the director of strength and conditioning at Glenville State from 2018-20, also taking on the role of assistant athletic director. He brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having worked as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at WVU with the football team since spring 2022. He was initially hired to assist with the baseball and golf programs. Originally from Fairmont, West Virginia, Harvath graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in 2013 with a degree in exercise science. He then pursued his master’s degree in athletic coaching education at WVU, graduating in 2016.
