Westfield Launches Ting Initiative: Smart Plug-in Sensors to Prevent Home Electrical Fires for Free

Westfield introduces Ting smart home technology to prevent electrical fires

Westfield, a renowned property and casualty company in the US, has launched a new initiative to prevent home electrical fires. The program, named Ting, uses smart plug-in sensors to monitor a home’s electrical system, detect potential hazards, alert homeowners and guide them through necessary repairs to prevent fires.

As part of their commitment to customer satisfaction and safety, Westfield collaborated with Whisker Labs to provide the Ting sensor and three years of fire prevention service for free to their customers. This initiative aims to offer advanced warning and prevent potential home fires.

Ting is a smart home technology that offers advanced warnings to mitigate fire hazards before they become catastrophic. It can also detect faults in the utility grid that may cause damage to homes and potentially contribute to wildfires in high-risk areas. Moreover, Ting can predict issues that may lead to water damage inside a home.

Westfield plans to distribute the fire hazard sensor and service to 10,000 homeowners this year at no cost, with a goal of reaching over 20,000 more homeowners in the next three years. This new technology aligns with Westfield’s mission of providing insurance products and solutions that protect their customers and communities for over 176 years.
