16-year-old Kris Kim: A Golfing Phenom at 9 Years Old

16-year-old newbie Kris Kim impresses golf world by making the cut in PGA Tour debut

16-year-old Kris Kim from England is making waves in the golfing world after he made the cut on his PGA Tour debut at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. His impressive performance has surpassed the record of the youngest player to make the cut on tour in nine years, previously held by Jordan Spieth in 2010.

Kim’s mother, former professional golfer Ji-Hyun Suh, introduced him to golf and has been his swing coach ever since. With her help, Kim has had a successful amateur career and won various championships. Despite feeling nerves on the cut line, Kim expressed his joy at being able to continue playing for two more days.

After making the cut, Kim sits in a tie for 36th place, seven shots behind overnight leader Jake Knapp. Knapp and Troy Merritt will tee off for the final pairing later that day while Kim will tee off for the third round on Saturday morning. However, Jordan Spieth failed to make the cut due to a wrist injury.
