Report Shows Acrisure Arena Contributed $168.5M to Local Economy in 2023

A recent study conducted by Tourism Economics revealed that Acrisure Arena, located near Palm Desert, had a significant impact on the local economy in 2023. The venue injected $168.5 million into the economy and supported almost 2,000 jobs. These figures exceeded projections in areas such as annual direct spending and labor income.

John Page, Senior Vice President of Acrisure Arena and the Coachella Valley Firebirds, described the arena as more than just a venue. He emphasized its role as a vibrant hub of community spirit and economic vitality.

Throughout the previous year, Acrisure Arena hosted 117 events, attracting approximately 850,000 attendees. This number exceeded projections by more than 20% per event. The 11,000-capacity arena was a popular site for concerts and home games for the American Hockey League’s Coachella Valley Firebirds, who finished as runners-up for the second consecutive season.

Scott White, President & CEO of Visit Greater Palm Springs, expressed excitement over the economic contributions that Acrisure Arena has made to the Greater Palm Springs area in a short period of time. White highlighted the arena’s role as a beacon for world-class entertainment and its impact on economic growth and job creation in the region. The AHL Board of Governors unanimously selected Acrisure Arena to host the 2025 AHL All-Star Classic, further solidifying the venue’s reputation as a major player in tourism and entertainment in the area.
