Alabama’s Transfer Portal Additions Strengthen Their 2024-25 Roster Amidst Key Losses

Rutgers standout Clifford Omoruyi moves to Alabama: Former top shot-blocker in the nation transferred her last season

Alabama has received a commitment from highly ranked big man Clifford Omoruyi from Rutgers through the transfer portal, adding to their roster for the 2024-25 season. Omoruyi, who was ranked as the No. 13 player in CBS Sports’ Transfer Rankings, is known for his shot-blocking abilities and impressive stats from last season.

The addition of Omoruyi marks the fourth transfer Alabama has made this offseason, with Aden Holloway from Auburn, Chris Youngblood from USF, and Houston Mallette from Pepperdine also joining the team. Despite losing key players from their Final Four roster, Alabama is making moves to strengthen their team with transfers and recruits.

In particular, the team has been very successful in recruiting top prospects for the 2024 cycle. They have the No. 2 recruiting class in that cycle, which includes top prospects like five-star center Derrion Reid and four-star players like Aiden Sherrell, Labaron Philon, and Naas Cunningham. With these additions, Alabama is well positioned to continue its success on the court next season.
