All-Star Bengals Defender Trey Hendrickson Seeks Trade for Long-Term Security, Following in Tee Higgins’ Footsteps

Report: yet another Bengals star has asked for a trade

Star defensive end Trey Hendrickson of the Cincinnati Bengals has requested a trade, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Despite being under contract for two more years, Hendrickson is seeking more long-term security than the team has offered.

Hendrickson has a base salary of $14.8 million in 2024 and $15.8 million in 2025, but neither year includes any guaranteed money. The Bengals have reportedly informed Hendrickson that they do not plan to move him, despite his trade request. This comes after star wide receiver Tee Higgins also requested a trade as he looks for a long-term deal.

In his three seasons with the Bengals, Hendrickson has accumulated 39.5 sacks, 34 tackles for loss, and 76 quarterback hits in 48 games. Additionally, he has earned three Pro Bowl selections during his time with the team. Hendrickson is coming off a career year where he recorded 17.5 sacks, the second-most in the NFL, along with 16 tackles for loss and 25 quarterback hits.
