Apple Shifts Focus from Electric Car to Home Robot: What Does the Future of Robotics Hold?

Apple aims to develop a home robot following the end of its car project.

Apple, the company known for always seeking out the next big thing, has recently shifted its focus from building an electric car to developing a home robot. While details about the specific function of this robot are still unclear, it is expected to be able to follow someone through the house. Robotics expert Simon Beckers from Brubotics at VUB notes that while a mobile robot that can track a person may not be overly complex to develop, its capabilities and tasks will determine its difficulty.

Beckers believes that the future of robotics lies primarily in industry, but also expects that household tasks will eventually be largely taken over by robots. Rather than one large super robot that can do everything, he predicts the development of smaller robots that can perform specific tasks. This shift towards automation in various aspects of life suggests a potential future where robots play a significant role in everyday tasks and activities.
