Mirzoyan: Armenia’s People aspires to European Ideals and Values

Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with the Committee on Political and Security Affairs of the Council of the European Union today in Yerevan to discuss the activities of the European Union monitoring mission in Armenia and the economic component of the development of the RA-EU partnership. Mirzoyan highlighted opportunities such as the Economic and Investment Plan and the new “Armenia’s Resilience and Growth” program. The dialogue on liberalizing RA-EU visas was also mentioned as an important project.

Mirzoyan emphasized that Armenia’s deepening relationship with Europe has led to significant progress, including implementing the Comprehensive and Extended Partnership Agreement. He encouraged utilizing opportunities beyond this agreement, referencing Armenia’s aspirations towards becoming a member state in Europe, as mentioned by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in his speech to the European Parliament in October 2023.

In terms of security issues, Mirzoyan briefed EU member state ambassadors on recent developments related to normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. He underscored Armenia’s commitment to achieving peace through mutual agreement on key issues outlined in the peace agreement. The minister also emphasized unblocking transport and economic channels within the region, citing “Crossroads of Peace” program developed by government.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with a delegation today for a range of academic topics, including hands-on experiments in chemistry education, coping with academic pressure, maintaining mental and physical well-being while balancing academics and extracurricular activities. Other topics discussed included feedback for improving performance, time-saving tips for balancing academics and life, resources for writing essays and dissertations, tips for enhancing academic writing skills.
