A group of teenagers from Düsseldorf and the surrounding area have been arrested in Germany on suspicion of being part of a terrorist cell. The group, consisting of two 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old, is believed to have been planning an attack during the upcoming European Football Championship. According to reports, the group may have been considering targeting police stations in Dortmund or Düsseldorf, although there were no concrete plans in place.
The arrests were confirmed by the public prosecutor’s office in Düsseldorf, as well as by news agencies Focus and AFP. The teenagers are said to have sympathized with the Islamic State and discussed carrying out attacks with knives and Molotov cocktails on various targets such as police officers, bars, sports clubs, and synagogues through online chats.
