Astros’ Ronel Blanco Throws First No-Hitter of the Season in Majors, Celebrates with Teammates

Houston Astros’ Ronel Blanco pitches no-hitter, shuts out Toronto Blue Jays

The Houston Astros made history on Monday night as Ronel Blanco threw the first no-hitter in the major leagues this season. Blanco, a right-hander, dominated the game with seven strikeouts and only two walks. Despite walking George Springer at the beginning of the game and again in the ninth inning, Blanco managed to keep the Toronto Blue Jays hitless throughout the game.

The final out came when Vladimir Guerrero Jr. grounded out, securing Blanco’s no-hitter. He celebrated with a broad smile before raising his arms above his head as he was mobbed by his teammates. This impressive feat marked the 17th no-hitter in Astros history and the first in the majors since Michael Lorenzen of the Philadelphia Phillies achieved one against the Washington Nationals in August of last year.

Blanco’s exceptional performance will be remembered as a historic moment for the Astros and the MLB.
