Azraq Camp’s Health Information System: Enhancing Healthcare Services with Regular Reporting and Analytics

Summary Report of Health Information System in UNHCR Azraq Camp, Jordan: Second Half of 2023

Since 2014, Azraq camp has implemented a Health Information System (HIS) which has proven to be invaluable in collecting data from various health facilities within the camp. The report for the second half of 2023 covers the period from July 1st to December 29th, 2023 (Week 26 – Week 52). Data was collected on a weekly basis from all health facilities in Azraq camp, including IMC Hospital, IMC clinic in Village 5, comprehensive AMR health facility, and AMR clinic in Village 2, as well as reproductive health services provided by IRC in Village 5 and the comprehensive health facility.

The implementation of HIS in Azraq camp has allowed for regular reporting of data on a weekly basis, enabling healthcare providers to monitor health services and identify any gaps or issues in their delivery. This information has been critical in informing decision-making and improving healthcare services within the camp. The population figure of 41,012 used to calculate indicators represents the median for the reporting period and provides a snapshot of the population size in Azraq camp during this timeframe. By using this figure, health officials can accurately assess the needs of the population and tailor healthcare services accordingly to meet those needs effectively.
