Bangor recognized for having top-notch air quality among global cities

Bangor, Maine is among the top cities in the world for air quality in terms of ozone particles year-round. The city secured the fifth spot in the overall ranking and tied for first place in the cleanest metropolitan areas in the United States for ozone. Additionally, Bangor also tied for first place in the category of cleanest metropolitan areas in the country for 24-hour particle pollution.

On the other hand, Long Beach, California was ranked as the most polluted city by ozone, while Bakersfield, California took the top spot for worst year-round and short-term particle pollution. The rankings are calculated by the Environmental Protection Agency based on the average levels of particles in each city.
