In baseball, Somerset defeated Richland 18-5 with a strong performance from Callen Miller and Lane Lambert. Miller recorded five hits, including a home run and five RBIs, while Lambert added two hits, including a homer and five RBIs. Carter Dunmyer also contributed three hits to the win, and Braeden Flower struck out 10 batters over six innings.
In Windber’s 12-2 win over Ferndale, Lucas Oleksa hit a 3-run home run and collected four RBIs. Lucas Rummel had two hits and an RBI, while Nathan Betcher added a hit and two RBIs. Logan Serenko struck out five batters in the game.
Meanwhile in tennis, Somerset’s Cornelius Grau and Josiah Antram won the District 5 Class 2A doubles championship by defeating Tussey Mountain’s Luke Barnett and Nolan May 6-1, 6-2.
