Bills Sign Suspended Wide Receiver Quintez Cephus Amidst NFL Gambling Scandal: What You Need to Know

Bills secure WR Quintez Cephus with a 1-year deal

The Bills have added a new player to their roster by signing wide receiver Quintez Cephus to a one-year contract. Prior to joining the Bills, Cephus played for the Detroit Lions from 2020-2022, where he appeared in 22 games and started in six of them. During his time with the Lions, Cephus had 37 receptions, 568 receiving yards, and four touchdowns.

Cephus’s most productive season was in 2020 when he recorded 20 receptions for 349 receiving yards and two touchdowns in just 13 games. However, last year, Cephus was suspended by the NFL along with other players for violating the league’s gambling policy by placing bets during the 2021 season. Despite this setback, the Bills saw potential in Cephus and decided to add him to their roster.

Quintez Cephus was drafted in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Wisconsin and hails from Macon, Georgia. At 6-foot-1 and weighing around 215 pounds, Cephus brings size and skill to the wide receiver position. It remains to be seen how he will fit into the Bills’ offense and contribute to their success during this upcoming season.
