US Congress Passes $95 Billion Aid Package for Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan

The US Senate has approved the 21st Century Power Based Peace Act, with a vote of 89 to 10. This act includes $95 billion in military aid for Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan. It also includes provisions to force ByteDance to sell TikTok.

The Ukraine support bill includes $60.84 billion in spending, with $23.2 billion to replenish US military supplies and $11.3 billion for ongoing military activities in the region. Aid to Israel includes funds to replenish missile defense arsenals, purchase new batteries, develop the Iron Beam system, restore stockpiles of ammunition, and purchase advanced weapons systems. A portion of the funds will also go towards US forces in the Middle East to counter threats to Israel.

The legislation will now move on to President Joe Biden’s desk for signing after passing both houses of Congress. It is a comprehensive bill that covers military aid and cooperation in key regions around the world.
