BMW increases production of electric vehicle components

BMW is investing 200 million euros into its components plant in Landshut, Germany to expand production capacity. The focus of this investment will be on producing the central housing for the electric powertrain of the Neue Klasse at this facility. This expansion will result in the addition of two new production lines, increasing the annual production capacity for fifth and sixth generation aluminum housings by approximately 30 percent.

Currently used in model series such as iX3, i4, i5, i7, and iX, the fifth generation of BMW electric motors will also benefit from this expansion. Plans are already underway for the sixth generation to be used in Neue Klasse vehicles starting in 2025.
