Boise State University Bids Farewell to Five Esteemed Faculty and Staff Members: A Celebration of Service and Dedication

April 9 Celebration Honoring Retiring Faculty and Staff of the College of Health Sciences

Boise State University is saying goodbye to five esteemed faculty and staff members who are retiring in the spring of 2024. These individuals have dedicated their careers to the university and their contributions will be recognized at a special event on Tuesday, April 9 from 3:00-4:30 p.m. in the Bishop Barnwell Room of the Student Union.

The retirees being honored include Sarah Toevs, Shelle Poole, Tim Kempf, Olgie Castillo, and Shawn Dunnagan. Each of these individuals has made significant contributions to the College of Health Sciences and will be dearly missed.

Olgie Castillo has served as a management assistant in the Department of Kinesiology for 16 years, while Shawn Dunnagan is a lecturer III in the School of Public and Population Health with 13 years of service. Tim Kempf is a clinical associate professor in the Department of Kinesiology, retiring after 19 years of service to Boise State. Shelle Poole is a divisional dean and clinical associate professor in the School of Nursing, having dedicated 13 years to the university. Lastly, Sarah Toevs is a professor in the School of Public and Population Health and the director of the Center for the Study of Aging, retiring after an impressive 24 years of service.

The entire campus community is invited to join in recognizing and appreciating these individuals for their contributions to Boise State.
