Breaking: Cowboys and Elliott Eye Possible Reunion Amid Draft for Starting Running Back

Report: Cowboys and Ezekiel Elliott Interested in Reuniting

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Cowboys and free agent running back Ezekiel Elliott are interested in reuniting. This news is not surprising, as the Cowboys are in need of a veteran running back after Tony Pollard departed in free agency, and Elliott is looking for a job. If Elliott does return to the Cowboys, they are likely to draft a running back to serve as a starter alongside him.

Currently, the Cowboys have Rico Dowdle, Deuce Vaughn, Malik Davis, and Snoop Conner on their roster at the running back position. Elliott, who will turn 29 this summer, spent the first seven years of his career with the Cowboys before being released last March. He then signed a one-year deal with the Patriots.

During the 2021 season, Elliott had career lows in carries, rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, yards per carry
