Dallas police officers are finding relief from the stresses of their jobs through a popular podcast held at the Dallas Police Association building. The “Bridging the Divide” podcast, created by the Assist the Officer Foundation, features law enforcement stories from North Texas and beyond. The podcast covers a range of topics, including historical events like President John F. Kennedy’s assassination to the experiences of officers in different police departments and units.

The hosts of the podcast, including Dallas police officer Joe King and Senior Cpl. Daniel Canete, aim to provide a platform for officers to share their stories and discuss mental health challenges faced in their line of work. With about three episodes airing each month, the podcast also highlights Dallas police history and honors fallen officers who have died in the line of duty.

Despite receiving recognition, such as a Law Enforcement Achievement Award from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, the officers behind the podcast are motivated by the impact it has on their fellow first responders. Listeners from all over the world have reached out to express how the podcast has resonated with them, providing a sense of community and understanding in the law enforcement profession.
