Breaking the Stigma: 2,000 Participants Run for Children’s Mental Health at Columbus Crew’s Lower.com Field

5K charity run supports mental health services for children

On Saturday, the weather was perfect for a run and almost 2,000 participants took advantage of the outdoors for a good cause. The Columbus Crew’s Lower.com Field hosted the On Our Sleeves 5K event, which aimed to raise awareness, break stigmas and raise funds for On Our Sleeves, a foundation dedicated to addressing children’s mental health.

Whitney Raglin Bignall, associate clinical director for Nationwide Children’s Hospital, emphasized the importance of talking about mental health and breaking stigmas surrounding it. She highlighted the significance of bringing awareness and fundraising efforts to help support this cause. Over 6 million people across the United States have engaged with the movement’s free pediatric mental health education resources since 2018.

The proceeds from the event will support On Our Sleeves in continuing to provide free mental health resources to those in need. To learn more about the On Our Sleeves initiative and how you can get involved, visit their website.
