John Alfred Tinniswood, born in the year of the Titanic sinking, celebrates his 111th birthday as the world’s oldest living man in Britain.

111-year-old John Alfred Tinniswood from England has officially claimed the title of the world’s oldest living man, following the death of Juan Vicente Pérez at age 114. Tinniswood, who was born in Liverpool in 1912, has lived through two world wars, as well as the Great Influenza and Covid-19 pandemics.

Tinniswood is a devoted fan of Liverpool football club and holds the record for the oldest surviving male World War II veteran. Currently residing in a care home in Southport, he enjoys reading the paper and listening to the radio. The staff at the care home describe him as an amazing individual with many stories to share.
