Caitlin Clark scored 32 points in Iowa’s 64-54 win over West Virginia on Monday night in Iowa City. The top-seeded Hawkeyes faced a tough challenge from the eighth-seeded Mountaineers, but Clark’s performance brought her career points total to 3,830 and set a new NCAA Division I women’s record for most points scored in a single season with 1,113.
Clark played her final collegiate game at home and expressed gratitude and pride for the program, her teammates, and her overall experience. She credited the team’s composure, especially during difficult moments in the game, and highlighted the importance of using their home crowd for support.
The Hawkeyes will now face Colorado in the Sweet 16 round in Albany on Saturday in a rematch of a Sweet 16 game from last year.
