Campari’s Secret Recipe: A Journey to Novi Ligure, Italy, and Beyond

Secretive five with the Campari recipe inside the factory

Campari has only five people in the world who know its secret recipe, revealed by Andrea Risti during a visit to the company’s Novi Ligure plant. The production process begins with infusing herbs, alcohol, and water in enormous tanks that produce popular drinks like Aperol and Campari. While Campari takes 30 days to make, Aperol is produced in just six days. The plant responsible for supplying bars around the world with these iconic red and orange beverages is located in Novi Ligure, chosen strategically to honor Asti Cinzano’s origins and meet DOC requirements.

Matteo Fantacchiotti, CEO of Campari, discussed the trend of low or no alcohol products and emphasized the company’s commitment to this trend. He cited Crodino as an example of their success in this area and saw it as an opportunity for Campari products to continue growing in popularity. Fantacchiotti also announced that they are introducing globally an alcohol-free spritz made with herbs.
