Celebrating Science and the Environment: Southeast Community College Hosts Free Family Science Night on Earth Day

Join SCC for an Earth Day celebration at Family Science Night on Monday

On Monday, April 22, from 5:30-8 p.m., Southeast Community College will be hosting a free Family Science Night in honor of Earth Day. This event will take place at the Career Academy Synergy Space located on the Lincoln Campus at 8800 O St.

The evening promises to be filled with fun and educational activities led by SCC science faculty, STEM Club, STEAM Team, and other campus volunteers. Children in elementary school will have the chance to engage in hands-on activities that will teach them more about science. Some of the exciting activities that will be featured include a geology table with bug fossils, experiments with penny water surface tension, creating Earth Day bird feeders, exploring the science of popcorn, and engaging in nanoscience activities.

In addition to the fun and educational activities, attendees will also enjoy free pizza and win prizes throughout the night. Food and drinks will be available for purchase from the Sweet Treats Food Truck and Traveling Tom’s Coffee Truck.
