114-Year-Old Venezuelan Man Passes Away, Holds Title of World’s Oldest Person

Juan Vicente Perez Mora, known as Tio Vicente, a farmer from the town of El Cobre in Venezuela, has passed away at the age of 114. He was recognized by Guinness World Records as the oldest man in the world in 2022, when he was 112 years and 253 days old.

Perez, who was born on May 27, 1909, was the ninth of ten children. From a young age, he worked in agriculture with his family, assisting with sugar cane and coffee harvesting. Throughout his life, Perez remained a hardworking individual and also served as a sheriff, resolving land and family disputes.

Perez left behind a large family that includes 11 children, 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. His legacy will continue to live on through their lives and the impact he made in his community during his long life.
