CGT announces submission of strike notices for Olympic Games by civil service workers

The CGT has announced that it will not respect an Olympic truce and has filed strike notices in the three branches of the civil service, covering the period from April 15 to September 15, which includes the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. The union is requesting long-term recruitment, salary compensation, rights to leave, teleworking, and disconnection. CĂ©line Verzeletti, on behalf of the CGT civil service, has expressed dissatisfaction among services that will be mobilized during the Games, with anticipated sectoral strikes.

Sophie Binet, the general secretary of the CGT, emphasized the need for the government to take immediate action to ensure the success of the Games, as repeated requests have not been addressed. The union is concerned about the working conditions of civil servants during the Olympic and Paralympic Games and is advocating for their rights and compensation.
