Noah Lyles and Gabby Thomas Lead USA Track and Field Team at World Athletics Relays

Noah Lyles and Gabby Thomas are leading a team of 28 athletes representing the USA Track and Field roster at the World Athletics Relays taking place in the Bahamas on May 4-5. The top 14 nations in the men’s and women’s 4x100m and 4x400m races, as well as the mixed-gender 4x400m relay, will qualify for the Paris Olympics. Following that, the last two spots will be awarded to the top nations not yet qualified based on world rankings as of June 30.

In August 2021, Noah Lyles made history by becoming the first sprinter to win world titles in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m races since Usain Bolt in 2015. He also anchored the U.S. men’s 4x100m relay team to a gold medal. This year, Lyles is part of the men’s 4x100m team at the World Relays alongside Olympic silver medalist Kenny Bednarek and others.

On the women’s side, Gabby Thomas and Tamari Davis will be competing in the 4x100m relay after being part of the world championship-winning relay team last August. Thomas also won a silver medal in
