Chatham Middle School Hosts Innovative Science & Technology Fair: Miles Schuster Takes Top Prize

Local Announcements: Winners of the 2024 Science and Technology Fair in CMS

In recent years, Chatham Middle School held its annual Science & Technology Fair in the school gym, where students from grades six to eight showcased their innovative projects. The fair saw participants develop a hypothesis or technical problem and use either the Scientific Method or Problem Solving Method to test their theories or find solutions.

The judging was done by Chatham’s high school and middle school science and technology faculty during the school day, with classes visiting to view the projects. The fair was open to the public in the evening, where the winners were announced at the end of the event.

In sixth grade, Miles Schuster studied how outside temperature affects solar panel efficiency. In seventh grade, Jack Galvin examined which fruit or vegetable has the most energy. Meanwhile, Lucy Tassinari and Logan Van Wie investigated different heat protectants’ effectiveness in eighth grade.

The winners of this year’s Science & Technology Fair were Miles Schuster for sixth grade, Jack Galvin for seventh grade, and Lucy Tassinari and Logan Van Wie for eighth grade. Congratulations to all students who participated in this fair and demonstrated their scientific and technological skills!
