Communicating for Health: How Strategic Communication is Helping the Western Pacific Region Improve Public Health

Utilizing Communication to Enhance Public Health in the Western Pacific Region

In today’s digital age, strategic communication has become a crucial element in public health. The goal of strategic communication is to plan, execute and evaluate interventions that encourage governments to adopt policies that promote the well-being of individuals, empower healthcare professionals to provide optimal care, and motivate people to take steps to protect their own health as well as that of their families and communities.

To help Member States adopt this approach, the Regional Action Framework on Communication for Health (C4H) has been designed by the World Health Organization (WHO). The C4H framework provides guidance on how to use this approach to achieve common public health goals in the Western Pacific region. By adopting this approach, Member States can improve the overall health of their populations and make a positive impact on their communities.
