Congressman Cohen Announces $21 Million in Grants to Support Memphis Communities Through Head Start Programs

In Memphis, Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) announced that three organizations will be receiving grants totaling $21,309,797 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The grants will support various important initiatives within the organizations, ultimately benefiting the individuals and families they serve.

Congressman Cohen expressed his satisfaction with the substantial investment from the federal government, particularly highlighting the funding for Head Start programs. Porter-Leath will receive $1,385,603 to operate its Head Start programs, while Memphis Health Center will receive $5,370,495 to support its programs. The Shelby County Board of Education will receive $14,553,699 for their Head Start programs.
