Cowboys Re-Sign Linebacker Damien Wilson to Practice Squad Amid Linebacker Depth Concerns

Linebacker Damien Wilson to join Cowboys

Linebacker Damien Wilson has rejoined the Cowboys, as per ESPN’s Todd Archer. Despite being out of the league for most of last season, Wilson signed with the Cowboys’ practice squad on January 3rd. He had previously served a four-game suspension for violating the Personal Conduct Policy.

Wilson’s last game in the league was in Week 18 of the 2022 season with the Panthers. Originally drafted by the Cowboys in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, Wilson spent his first four seasons in Dallas before moving on to play for Kansas City, Jacksonville, and Carolina.

With depth at their linebacker position being a concern, the Cowboys have now added outside free agent Damien Wilson to their roster. This makes him the fourth such player to join the team, joining Ezekiel Elliott, Eric Kendricks, and Royce Freeman.
