Authorities probing fatal shooting outside DeKalb County sports bar

A deadly shooting that took place near a DeKalb County sports bar early Saturday morning is being investigated by authorities. The incident occurred at around 3:45 a.m. at DaBomb Sports Grill on Evans Mill Road in Lithonia.

Surveillance cameras captured the incident and the owner of the sports bar stated that two men came to the establishment to use the restroom after being turned away by another nearby restaurant. The security guard mentioned that the men were required to pay to enter the premises, and they went behind a Citgo gas station to relieve themselves, where one of them was shot by what appeared to be a homeless individual, as per the owner’s account.

The owner also stated that there were trees in front of his establishment, situated behind a Citgo gas station, and it is believed that one of them may have obstructed the view of any potential assailants. The 34-year-old individual with multiple gunshot wounds was discovered in a nearby parking lot and Henry Anderson, 38-year-old, was apprehended in connection with the crime and taken to DeKalb County Jail. Anderson is facing charges of malice murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, as well as an outstanding arrest warrant from Gwinnett County for allegedly escaping from law enforcement.
