Tragically, a fatal crash occurred at a health center in Devens early on Wednesday morning. The incident took place at around 5:30 a.m. when a pickup truck crashed into a building located at 85 Patton Road, known as TaraVista Behavioral Health Center. The Devens Fire Department promptly responded to the scene, as the truck was engulfed in flames.
Unfortunately, the driver of the truck did not survive the crash, as confirmed by state police. Fortunately, no one inside the building sustained injuries. The cause of the accident is currently being looked into by state police working with the Worcester District Attorney’s Office.
TaraVista Behavioral Health Center is one of the numerous businesses and organizations situated on the former Army base in Devens. The center offers inpatient psychiatric care services to its patients. At present, authorities have not disclosed the identity of the pickup driver involved in the crash.
