The Municipality of Dhofar is preparing for the launch of the Dhofar Fall 2024 activities in collaboration with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in Oman. Last year, the number of visitors during Dhofar Fall 2023 increased to 962 thousand, compared to 813 thousand in 2022. This year, the municipality expects to attract over one million visitors.

During a press conference at the Arabian Travel Market 2024 exhibition in Dubai, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohsen Al-Ghassani, Mayor of Dhofar, announced that this year’s activities will take place at both existing and new sites to attract more tourists. The fall season will run from June 21 to September 20 and last three months, twice as long as previous years.

One of the highlights of the activities will be the launch of the “Atin Square” website, which offers various events such as Omani and Arab artistic concerts at Al Murooj Theater and other locations. Additionally, there will be a sports challenge field in the games area at Atin Square. The “Return of the Past” activities in Al-Saada area will be updated to simulate local environments in Dhofar Governorate, including new environments from other Sultanate of Oman governorates.

The Municipality of Dhofar is also working hard to provide visitors with a diverse and engaging experience during the fall season by featuring live performances and arts that showcase Omani culture, along with the inaugural “Dhofar International Theater Festival.”
