Dodgers Struggle with Injuries as Pitcher Bobby Miller and Reliever Connor Brogdon go on the IL

Dodgers put right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller on injured list due to shoulder inflammation

The Los Angeles Dodgers are facing another challenge with the injury of standout pitcher Bobby Miller. The team has placed the right-handed starter on the 15-day injured list due to shoulder inflammation. Although the injury is not considered severe, any shoulder issue for a pitcher is cause for concern.

Dodgers reliever Connor Brogdon has also been placed on the IL, with pitchers J.P. Feyereisen and Nick Ramirez called up to fill the roster spots. This injury marks an interruption in what was expected to be a breakout season for the sophomore pitcher, who showed promise in his first start this season but struggled in his next two appearances. Now, he will have to wait to bounce back from this setback.

The Dodgers’ rotation is already facing challenges with injuries to other starting pitchers such as Walker Buehler, Clayton Kershaw, Emmet Sheehan, Dustin May, and Tony Gonsolin. Tyler Glasnow has been impressive so far, but other starters like Yoshinobu Yamamoto, James Paxton, and Gavin Stone have been inconsistent. Buehler is nearing a return from Tommy John surgery, but a recent injury in a rehab start raised concerns about his availability for the rest of the season. As a result, the team is considering options on their 40-man roster for a rotation replacement, including Triple-A players Kyle Hurt and Landon Knack as well as top prospect River Ryan.

Overall, the Dodgers will need to find ways to overcome these setbacks if they want to make it back into postseason contention this year.
