Double Distinction for JMSB: Southeastern Oklahoma State University Business School Receives Accolades for Academic Excellence in Galveston Conference

John Massey School of Business honored with numerous accolades at Federation of Business Disciplines conference

Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s John Massey School of Business received numerous accolades for academic excellence at the national conference of the Federation of Business Disciplines in Galveston, Texas. Among the nine associations represented, the Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ASBE) and the Southwest Case Research Association (SWCRA) recognized JMSB as Educator of the Year for each respective group.

Dr. Courtney Kernek was awarded Outstanding Educator Award from ASBE for winning 2024 Educator of the Year, while Dr. David Whitlock won Outstanding Educator Award from SWCRA for 2024 Educator of the Year. Additionally, ASBE awarded Distinguished Paper of the Year to Dr. Whitlock, Dr. Ashley Hampton, and Dr. Shanker Menon for their paper on Career Preferences of Business Students, highlighting JMSB faculty members’ dedication to academic excellence in various fields of business research.

On the other hand, SWCRA recognized Dr. Ying-Chou Lin, Dr. Arthur Tran and Dr. Meng Li with Distinguished Paper of the Year award for their paper on Collapse of Silicon Valley Bank in 2023. These honors demonstrate JMSB’s commitment to academic excellence and emphasize quality education that students receive through exceptional work by its faculty members in various fields of business research.

Overall, these honors further elevate JMSB’s reputation as a leading institution dedicated to providing quality education and academic excellence in business disciplines.
