Dubai sees a 6.2% increase in households and slight decrease in average family size, while residential communities experience minimal growth

Dubai saw a 6.2% increase in households in the past year, reaching a total of 711,590 families compared to 669,750 families in the previous year. This growth represents an addition of 41.8 thousand new families moving into the emirate in 2023.

The number of family members in Dubai reached 2.855 million by the end of 2023, indicating a slight decrease in the average size of a family from 4.1 individuals in 2022 to 4 individuals in 2023 and down from 4.3 individuals in 2021.

In terms of residential communities, Dubai saw a slight increase with a total of 2,253 communities compared to the previous year’s count of 2,249 communities. The total number of residents living in these communities increased by just over half a percent to reach 800 thousand people by the end of last year compared to the previous year’s figure.
