Efforts to Simplify Healthcare Information Sharing: DocuSign and Velatura Pilot Project to Streamline Patient Consent Form Collection

Achieving Compliance with CMS Final Rule Through Behavioral Health, Interoperability, and eConsent

A webinar on April 16 at 1pm ET will feature Aneesh Chopra, the former Chief Technology Officer during the Obama administration and current president of CareJourney. Chopra will moderate a discussion on how providers are collaborating with health information exchanges and health tech vendors to adhere to the CMS Interoperability and Prior Authorization Final Rule.

DocuSign, a leading provider of electronic signature and contract lifecycle management solutions, and Velatura, a prominent multi-jurisdictional health information exchange and health data utility, have recently announced a groundbreaking pilot project. This project aims to simplify the process of capturing patient consent forms for protected health information (PHI), as required by federal and state laws.

Healthcare providers must obtain patient consent in order to share sensitive data, such as mental health records or treatment information related to alcohol and substance use disorder. The partnership between DocuSign and Velatura seeks to enhance the efficiency of consent collection and management, ultimately improving care coordination for both patients and providers. This will free up more time for clinical consultations and decision-making.

The webinar panel will include Aneesh Chopra, as well as other experts in the field such as MJ Jackson, Global Head of Industries at DocuSign, Angie Bass, Chief Strategy Officer at Velatura, Natalie Spivak, Chief Information Officer at Southwest Michigan Behavioral Health, and Joseph Wager, Technology Project Manager at Mid-State Health Network.
