Aviation Business Veteran Leanne Caret Joins Embry-Riddle’s Board of Trustees

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has recently appointed Leanne Caret, a former CEO and Fortune 100 director, as a new member of their Board of Trustees. Caret’s impressive career includes serving as a senior advisor to Blackstone, holding board director positions with Deere & Company and RTX, and working as an executive vice president and senior advisor at The Boeing Company. She also served as CEO and president of Boeing Defense, Space and Security for 34 years.

Caret’s expertise in driving high-performing organizations to new levels makes her a valuable addition to Embry-Riddle’s Board of Trustees. Chairman Mori Hosseini praised Caret for her strategic thinking and industry experience, highlighting her potential to help guide the university towards a successful future.

In addition to her role at Embry-Riddle, Caret is involved with several other organizations, including the Kansas State University Foundation and USO Inc. She also serves on advisory boards for the Virginia Tech National Security Institute and the Oklahoma Aerospace Defense Innovation Institute, and is a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and an associate fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

President P. Barry Butler expressed his confidence that the university will benefit greatly from Caret’s wisdom and guidance, given her track record of leading change and mentoring senior leaders. As a graduate of Kansas State University with a Master of Business Administration from Wichita State University, Caret holds an honorary doctorate from Embry-Riddle in recognition of her accomplishments in aviation and aerospace industries. With this background in mind, it is clear that Caret is well-positioned to contribute to the development of future talent in these fields at Embry-Riddle.
