Some MEPs have also raised concerns about the appointment process and have called for the nomination to be canceled and a new procedure to be initiated. Despite von der Leyen expressing confidence that the appointment was made in accordance with all relevant procedures, the debate on the issue is expected to take place in the European Parliament soon.
