A sneak peek at the cricket field and stadium constructed for the Cricket World Cup at Eisenhower Park

The Cricket World Cup is coming to Long Island this year, and News 12 recently got an exclusive sneak peek at the stadium where it will be held. Located at Eisenhower Park, the stadium has a capacity of 34,000 fans and was constructed by local Long Islanders.

John Sulinski and his company, Landtek, were responsible for installing the field and main pitch where the cricket matches will take place. Stony Brook native Don Lockerbie, who is part of the organizing committee for the Cricket World Cup, expressed his excitement about bringing cricket to a wider audience in the United States through this event.

Lockerbie stated that having the tournament in Nassau was sensational and would help the sport gain popularity in America. The newly constructed field specifically created for the event will showcase top-tier cricket matches on American soil.

While the stadium itself will be dismantled after the tournament, the field will remain as a reminder of this prestigious event being held in America. Fans and participants alike are eagerly anticipating the start of the Cricket World Cup games and looking forward to witnessing some of the best cricket matches in history on US soil.
