Clyde Richards Jr., who was previously the deputy program executive officer at Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency, has recently been appointed as the deputy chief information officer at the National Science Foundation. With over thirty years of experience in defense and government industries, Richards is well-equipped for his new role with expertise in program and portfolio management.
Prior to his work at DCSA, Richards held positions such as director of the Army Mission Command portfolio at the Office of the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army and director of the Army and Marine Corps portfolio at the Defense Contract Management Agency. He also served as a senior program manager for defense communications and army transmission systems at the Army Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Systems.
Richards’ eight-year tenure in the Army saw him in various leadership positions, preparing him for his current role at the National Science Foundation. During his time at DCSA, he played a key role in developing and implementing information technology systems that supported DCSA’s mission objectives. His expertise in program and portfolio management will be valuable to NSF as they continue to modernize their IT infrastructure.
