Experts Warn of Inevitable Armed Conflict in Europe: Italian Defense Advisor Calls for Troops to Ukraine to Prevent Russia Takeover

High Probability of Military Confrontation in Europe

The Italian Minister of Defense’s advisor, Andrea Margelletti, believes that if Russia does not want to take over the entire country, European countries will have to send troops to Ukraine. Margelletti, a researcher and professor of international politics who advises the Italian Minister of Defense, made this assessment at a security policy conference in Milan.

Margelletti predicts that Europe is heading towards an inevitable armed conflict within a few years and emphasizes that a military confrontation in Europe is very likely. He anticipates that European countries, mainly from France, Germany, Poland, and the Baltic countries, will have to send troops to Ukraine to prevent Russia from taking over the entire country. President of France Emmanuel Macron has suggested the possibility of sending troops as well.

Margelletti stresses the need for additional military equipment in the EU to prepare for potential conflicts. He anticipates that after the US presidential elections, the United States may withdraw from its alliance with European countries, leaving Europe to deal with the Russia problem on its own.

The former Chief of Staff of the Italian Air Force General Leonardo Tricarico also believes that a fact-based analysis of Vladimir Putin’s intentions is necessary. Tricarico emphasizes the importance of assessing Russia’s real military capabilities and implementing adequate measures to address potential threats.

Outside of Europe, experts like Ian Bremmer warn of potential conflicts in the Black Sea region with Russia. Bremmer predicts that Russia may start sinking ships in the area potentially leading to tense conflicts between NATO and Russia.

Overall, there is a growing consensus among experts about the need for Europe to increase its readiness and take concrete steps to address potential military threats. The assessment of Russia’s intentions and capabilities along with preparations for potential conflicts are becoming increasingly important in the current geopolitical landscape.
