Students Receive Benefits from Health Care Professions and Majors Fair

On March 12, the Health Education Pathways Program hosted a Professions and Majors in Health Care Fair in the Titan Student Union Pavilion. The event aimed to introduce students to a variety of professional fields and job opportunities in health care and behavioral health care, as well as the educational pathways needed to enter these fields.

Over 250 students attended the fair, including CSUF students, community college students, and high school students from Anaheim Union High School District and Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District. Fifteen professional organizations participated in the fair, many of which are major employers of CSUF graduates and well-known in Southern California. These organizations included Orange County Health Care Agency, Hoag Hospital, Kaiser Permanente, Children’s Hospital of Orange County, and more.

CSUF departments such as Aging Studies, Biological Science, Counseling, Kinesiology, Nursing, and Social Work were also represented at the fair. Students who attended reported that they found the event beneficial in learning about the professional fields within health care and the educational pathways to enter those fields.
