In the midst of a busy free agency tour, Zay Jones is scheduled to meet with the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday. This will be the fourth stop on his week-long itinerary, following visits with the Titans, Cardinals, and Cowboys.
The 29-year-old wide receiver became a free agent after being released by the Jaguars following the draft to make room for Brian Thomas, their first-round pick. Prior to his time in Jacksonville, Jones had stints with the Raiders and Bills. Despite dealing with injuries last season and tallying just 34 catches for 321 yards, he had a more productive year in 2022 with 82 catches for 823 yards.
The Chiefs are looking to improve their wide receiver position this offseason after legal issues and potential suspension loomed over top receiver Rashee Rice. The team has already signed Hollywood Brown as a free agent and drafted Xavier Worthy in the first round to address their needs at receiver. Adding Jones to their roster could further strengthen their receiving corps for next season.
