Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton to hold discussion on the intersection of science and faith

Gary United Methodist Church, located at 224 N. Main St., in Wheaton, is hosting a discussion-based series throughout the month of April that explores the relationship between science and faith. Stephen Lovett, a former math professor, will be leading the talks that take place every Sunday at 10 a.m. The first session, on April 7, will focus on “How Do We Know What We Know?” by examining the scientific method and principles of biblical interpretation. Other topics covered in the series include “How Old is the World?”, “How and Why Were We Created?”, and “Can We Resolve the Debates?”.

The church offers various services and programs throughout the day. Worship services are available at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., with Kids’ Church and nursery care during the 9 a.m service. Livestreaming and recorded worship can also be accessed on garychurch.org. The 11 a.m service has a more casual atmosphere with church musicians present. At 10 a.m., “Special Blend” coffee hour and Sunday school for all ages are also available for attendees to enjoy after their discussions with Stephen Lovett
