On Friday evening, a package containing explosives was discovered at a meeting of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Kalsdorf near Graz. The meeting, which took place with about 50 people present, prompted the presence of the police all night. Explosives experts had to approach the situation with extreme caution as they determined that it was an “unconventional, home-made but working explosive device”.
The incident raised concerns as it was unclear who planted the explosive and prompted an ongoing investigation. This is not the first time such incidents have occurred near meetings of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Austria, with two similar events happening last year.
