Ezekiel Elliott was drafted fourth overall in 2016 and played seven seasons with the Cowboys up to 2022. He made headlines after his third NFL season when he held out for a new contract, eventually securing a deal with a favorable structure that kept him with the team longer than anticipated. During his time with the Cowboys, Elliott earned accolades such as All-Pro and Pro Bowler as a rookie, and continued to receive Pro Bowl nods in 2017 and 2018.
